Maymay Stamps and Distress Oxide
I recently got a 'Blessed Inside and Out' stamp set from Maymay Made It. (MMI) I used two stamps for the sentiment. I think because it's called 'Inside and Out' the 'and cares' stamp is supposed to be for the inside, however, I wanted them both on the front.
I often give cards to my mother-in-law to use, and she doesn't want anything on the inside because she uses them as notecards.
I used Distress Oxide inks in Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, and Worn Lipstick (MMI/S/MP) to create the original sentiment base for a different card. I had quite a bit left over so I added Rusty Hinge Distress Ink (MMI/S/MP) to get the exact shade I wanted. I love that I can turn white paper the colors I need to match my background papers! I added a dark brown paper behind the sentiment for a border.
The patterned paper is from 'Vagabond Treasures' papers, Our Daily Bread (ODB). I trimmed it to 3 3/4" x 5", adhered it to a beige patterned paper, trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4" and then adhered that to a dark orange paper, trimmed to my card size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used a sand colored heavyweight cardstock for my card base.
The enamel dots were made with Nuvo drops (MMI/S) dried onto glue dots. We were given this idea at a rubber stamp convention last year. My mother bought the Nuvo dots and my sisters and I spent part of an evening using all of her colors dropped onto glue dots and set out to dry. They traveled well, and have held up well all year. I like that I can have drops already dried and ready to use on a project.
I die cut the sentiment and frame from a Lifestyle Crafts set, but I think it could be easily replicated using the WRMK corner punch Stub and Scallop (S). The frame is 3/8" bigger than the sentiment. I have that corner punch so I'll have to try that idea and let you know if it's a success!
Let me know if you love the card. Do you like the two stamps used together? Do you think the stub corner punch idea will work?
Blessings,
Julie
